Strategic communication within Public Relations is the main component for an organization to achieve their desired goals. Strategic communication involves curating messages in a way that is resonates with the target audiences and then choosing the appropriate channels of communication. Effective communication is also a two-way approach. The organization should be able to communicate with their publics, and then be able to receive communication from their publics. So, publics should be able to communicate to the organization and give beneficial feedback. This helps the organization stay focused on goals. Overall, strategic communication is the process of calculating and delivering content that has been planned and implemented into correct positions around the organization’s goals. With proficient organization, internal and external, strategic communication should remain consistent, contain valuable and relevant information within the parties.
The purpose of strategic communications can be identified by answering the following questions created by Simpplr:

The importance of strategic communications remains prominent in Public Relations. This is part of understanding audience demographics, psychographics, and preferences. An organization’s marketing department also contributes to strategic communications. Strategic communications affect the amount of content target audiences are able to see. If communication is not done strategically, there will be low visibility of that content; however, if communication is done strategically, there will be higher visibility. Visibility eventually leads to relationships between an organization and target audiences. Clear communication influences clear reception which prevents the circulation of inaccurate information. An effective plan sets the objective in a clear way that does not leave room for something to be added or removed. This is important because if something false gets out to public, then it becomes a criss that needs to be taken care of. This false information can lead to negative reputation concerns, which no organization ever wants.
PR strategic communications extends to external stakeholders to include internal stakeholders in addition. Employees are often considered brand ambassadors as their perceptions of an organization tend to influence external audiences. They can influence their family and friends that the organization they represent can satisfy them. Internal employees also communicate with each other to stay informed, engages, and aligned with the goals the organization wants to accomplish. This can help strengthen the work environment, and strength reputation and credibility.

In conclusion, strategic communication within Public Relations is an important aspect in reaching the target audience in the most efficient way. This is done by research, setting goals, selecting channels, maintaining an organizations reputation, and keeping internal and external communication clear. As the world is changing with the increase of technology and media, it is important for Public Relations to remain up-to-date on how to strategically communicate as they maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
